Kerry Wolf started his journey in the world of film and the arts, drawn to storytelling, human emotion, and the rhythm of creativity. But his path didn’t stop there.

He went on to work in the tech industry for companies like Quest Software and Dell Software, eventually playing a role in a major merger acquisition. His career then took him to Skymind AI, an artificial intelligence startup based in San Francisco, where he worked in data analytics—helping shape the future of machine learning with cutting-edge tools.

Then came a detour. Kerry left tech and returned to his creative roots, running a high-volume music studio where he taught over 80 students each week—piano, guitar, and a love for learning.

But when Covid hit, everything changed. With families coming into his home daily, Kerry and his wife made a pivotal decision: to close the studio doors and build something new. That’s when Sunflower Counseling was born. Or, as Kerry puts it, “It sort of created itself.”

Today, Kerry serves as CEO of Sunflower Counseling, one of Montana’s largest and fastest-growing mental health centers. Together with his wife, Marie, he also co-founded Counselor Theory—a company dedicated to helping therapists step into entrepreneurship and launch powerful group practices of their own.

At Sunflower, Kerry’s role as CEO is hands-on and multi-dimensional. He leads initiatives in marketing, conflict resolution, data analytics, social media strategy, and AI integration—but more than anything, he’s focused on shaping a culture people want to be part of.

From national guest speakers and book clubs to fostering a workplace where creativity and purpose thrive, Kerry believes in building a company where people are inspired, not just employed. He often quotes a friend’s saying:

“You can always spot the CEO—he’s the one with the toilet plunger fixing what’s broken.”

That spirit of humility and service runs through everything Kerry does. Whether he’s working on a new growth strategy or plunging a literal toilet, he leads with presence, purpose, and the belief that every role matters in building something extraordinary.

Marie Christine

Marie Christine is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed School Counselor, and the Clinical Director of Sunflower Counseling, one of Montana’s most respected and fastest-growing mental health centers. She’s also the co-founder of Counselor Theory, a business education and coaching platform that helps solo clinicians build successful, heart-centered group practices—with strategy, structure, and soul.

Marie’s journey began with a deep love for psychology and music. A Montana native, she earned dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Music Performance from the University of Montana and spent over a decade as a private cello instructor, helping students of all ages find confidence, discipline, and joy through music. That same approach—gentle but focused, warm but purposeful—now guides her work with therapists and practice owners alike.

She went on to earn her Master’s in Counseling and build a wide-ranging clinical career across outpatient settings, schools, and community systems in Missoula and Ravalli Counties. Her specialties include trauma, grief, maladaptive behavior, and work with children, teens, and families. She’s known for creating a nonjudgmental, compassionate space where clients and clinicians alike feel empowered to grow.

In 2020, Marie and her husband Kerry Wolf launched Sunflower Counseling during the pandemic—transitioning from a music studio to a mental health center almost overnight. What started as a necessity soon became a calling, and together they’ve built a thriving, values-driven company that continues to grow each year.

They later co-founded Counselor Theory to help other therapists do the same.

Marie and Kerry bring a rare, complementary dynamic to everything they build. 

Kerry is the one who steps into the hardest moments. He handles extreme conflict resolution, the kind of interpersonal and systemic challenges that can derail a company—and transforms them into opportunities for clarity and progress. Marie brings consistency, clinical insight, and data-driven decision-making to the table, while Kerry pushes the boundaries of what’s next.

Together, they’ve built something powerful. And through Counselor Theory, they’re opening the door for other therapists to do the same—with a clear roadmap, ongoing support, and the belief that you don’t need to be perfect to start—just committed.
